Capcom taps Monster Hunter producer to lead development on beginner-friendly shooter EX Troopers for Sony's console and Nintendo's portable.
Capcom will launch a Lost Planet spin-off title for the PlayStation 3 and 3DS called EX Troopers, according to the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu (translated by Andriasang). Development on the game will be led by Monster Hunter series producer Shintaro Kojima.

Gamers yearning for the first proper look at Respawn Entertainment's first game won't get it at next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo. Speaking to Joystiq, Respawn community manager Abbie Heppe said, "We won't be showing anything or doing any press related to the game" during the annual geek gala. Heppe confirmed this statement to GameSpot this afternoon.

Rhode Island government says 38 Studios is making overdue loan payment even as employees go without pay.
38 Studios is making up its missed loan payment, but apparently at the expense of its employees. According to Providence, Rhode Island-based news outlet WPRI, the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning developer is submitting a $1.125 million loan payment it missed, but told the state's Economic Development Corporation that it was unable to pay its employees as scheduled.
